Yes, we all enjoy messy play. It’s such fun… and of course educational. This sensory play is a great way to ease children into new experiences without overwhelming them. The children can explore the material in front of them, touch, smell, taste (if appropriate), listen and see each item in whichever way pleases them the most.
The children at St Leonards have also been exploring the nursery garden, which is a fantastic resource which allows the children to focus on outdoor learning through play. They can build on their physical development in the garden, risk taking and working on their gross motor skills and developing their communication and language with peers.
